The Bichon Frise is pure white.  Some sandy color in the ears is acceptable.  They have big black eyes and black noses.  As an adult their silky double coat of hair will become very curly.

The Bichon Frise has become very popular in Canada in the last 20 years.

Understandable so, they are the perfect pets.  Their soft coated hair grows fairly quickly.  A visit to the groomers a few times a year is necessary.  Scissor cut should be used.  Weekly brushing a definite asset.  Their hair can be kept long and puffy or for easier maintenance cut short and neat.

The Bichon Frise – original purpose was to chase game and flush birds.  The Bichon Frise of today – loves to play games and watch birds through the window.

The Bichon Frise is descended from the Barbet or Water Spaniel.  The name “Bichon” is actually a contraction of “Barbichon” or the Barbet.

The Bichon of today is a much smaller dog than the original Barbet.

The Bichon Frise is typically a happy smiley dog.  Full of fun and a wonderful companion for the young and the young at heart.

It is the “ideal” choice for apartment dwellers as well as homes with a back hard.

Long walks are great, but certainly not necessary for their all around health.

Bichons are small enough for Air-Line travel.  Love to go for car rides and being with their family.

An affectionate, loveable companion dog.  But sshh …. Don’t tell them that they are a dog.
